Speakers from Mantova presenting the SMAPE project in the North-West Italy General Logistic Summit

On September 25th, 2024, the Province of Mantova, supported by ALOT, presented the SMAPE project during the annual General Logistic Summit of North-West Italy, held in Milan. The event brought together key stakeholders to discuss advancements in sustainable mobility, logistics, and hydrogen initiatives.

The Province of Mantova is focusing on updating its Provincial Territorial Coordination Plan as part of SMAPE. This plan plays a crucial role in organizing and protecting Mantua's territory by integrating shared mobility solutions with existing transport networks. Through the Plan, the province is working on developing multimodal transport hubs, enhancing infrastructure for sustainable passenger and freight transport, and incorporating renewable energy and alternative fuel solutions, including hydrogen.

The SMAPE project is supporting these efforts by enabling the integration of shared mobility options into the PTCP, transforming some neighbourhoods into a pilot testing ground for innovative transport solutions. The plan also aims to promote public-private partnerships, support mobility hubs, and raise awareness about shared mobility among residents and tourists.

Their participation underscored the importance of collaboration in addressing regional mobility challenges and advancing shared mobility practices. The General Logistic Summit provided a valuable opportunity for dissemination, allowing SMAPE to reach an audience of experts, policymakers, and industry representatives from across the region.
